Holter Monitor
A Holter monitor is a small, portable device that records your heart’s rhythm over a 24- to 48-hour period.
It’s a non-invasive test that helps diagnose and monitor heart conditions, such as:
1. Arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms)
2. Bradycardia (slow heart rate)
3. Tachycardia (fast heart rate)
4. Atrial fibrillation
5. Ventricular tachycardia
How it works:
1. Small electrodes are placed on your chest
2. The Holter monitor is attached to the electrodes
3. The device records your heart’s rhythm continuously for 24-48 hours
4. You’ll keep a diary of your activities and symptoms during the test
5. The data is then analyzed by a healthcare professional
Benefits:
1. Accurate diagnosis of heart rhythm disorders
2. Monitoring of heart rhythm over an extended period
3. Identification of intermittent arrhythmias
4. Evaluation of symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, or chest pain
5. Monitoring of treatment effectiveness
